Pastor Mike & Sandi were high school sweethearts and were married right out of high school in 1974. They have two daughters and seven grandchildren. The Hanks answered to call to ministry in 1986 and have pastored in Morton, TX (5 years), Sweeny, TX (12 years), before coming to MFA in 2002. Mike and Sandi were born and raised in the Odessa/Midland area. They feel blessed to be pastoring in their West Texas home town area.
Mike has always been a restoration leader. Sandi is an encourager & nurturer. She keeps everyone laughing with her sense of humor. The Hanks passion is to help others become who God wants them to be.
Ryan & Cari Pate
Associate Pastors
Ryan and Cari have been in ministry together their entire married life. There were married in 1997 and have 4 amazing children; Lexi, Neleigh, Connor and Carson. Their children are an absolute asset in their ministry endeavors. Ryan and Cari have served as Student Pastors, Associate Pastors and Lead Pastors during their ministry career. Cultivating solid relationships within the church & their community is a priority.
Ryan is passionate about making disciples and helping people in the church find a place to connect & serve. He excels at one-to-one & small group mentorship. He plays guitar and leads worship alongside Cari every Sunday morning and Wednesday night. Cari is a people person and has a knack for making people feel welcome and wanted, which is essential in ministry. She enjoys teaching Bible studies & planning events that encourage connection and relationship. Cari plays piano and has lead worship since the age of 13.
The Pate Family became Associate Pastors at MFA in August, 2013. They serve MFA well and are a blessing to the church family & pastoral team.
Aaron & Chelsea Flynn
Youth Pastors
Aaron started ministry in 2010 as a Junior High Pastor in San Antonio. At that church, he met his wife Chelsea and they got married in 2015. The Flynn’s have served together in youth and kids ministry and came to MFA in 2019 to serve as the Youth Pastors. They are also foster parents who have a heart for children and youth of all ages.
Brenda Foster
Children’s Pastor
Brenda grew up attending MFA. All five children of her children have attended MFA as well. Brenda’s parents were charter members of the church.
Brenda has always had a heart to minister to children. She works with MFA children every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services. She emphasizes that she has lots of fun teaching God’s Word and God’s love to God’s children.
